Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Department

Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder affecting approximately 70,000 to 100,000 U.S. Citizens. The disease disproportionately affects communities of color, as more than 90% of those suffering from Sickle Cell Disease are non-Hispanic Black or African American, while an estimated 3%-9% are Hispanic or Latino.

The mission of the Department is to empower our membership through education, advocacy, and fundraising. Annually, during our Imperial Court Session, the Department makes a financial contribution to the host city’s Sickle Cell Disease Foundation.

Ruth M. Ellerbe Thinking Pink Department

Providing advocacy and timely information on breast cancer awareness, diagnosis, treatments, and cancer care support within our communities, this department encourages our members to volunteer and network in local, community-based breast cancer awareness programs.

The department also provides financial support that assists with empowering our members, and their families, who are breast cancer survivors or currently receiving treatment.

Military Affairs Department

The Imperial Court is showing its support of our Imperial Court Daughters who currently serve or have previously served in the Uniformed Armed Services through the establishment of this department.

The department exists to promote awareness and support among our military members serving within the Uniformed Armed Services, further enhancing The Imperial Court’s abilities to further support our members, both in, and out of uniform.
