The Imperial Court, An Auxiliary of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S., Inc.
The Gloria B. Ramsey
The Gloria B. Ramsey Tools for School’s primary goal is to contribute to increasing the educational attainment level of children and adults. The Imperial Court annually provides tools and supplies to give students the needed resources to achieve their academic goals.
The Sadie B. Mitchell Special Needs
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
The NAACP is an American civil rights organization formed in 1909 as an interracial endeavor to advance justice for African Americans. Our goal is to promote the welfare of African American citizens. The Imperial Court has Life Membership and encourages our Constituent Courts and Daughters to support this goal by purchasing a Life Membership with the NAACP.
Saving Babies, Together
The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization that focuses on the health of mothers and babies. Their mission is to end preventable maternal and infant deaths, preterm births, and birth defects, and to close health equity gaps for all families.
The Imperial Court provides women and families with educational resources and support research to improve maternal and infant health. We make an annual financial contribution to the local March of Dimes in the host city for the Imperial Court Session.
The United Negro College Fund
The UNCF initiative aims to assist in closing the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population, help promising students attend college and graduate by providing funds to assist with college tuition, books, and housing, and serve as an advocate for the importance of minority higher education, assisting with the mission implicit to its motto…A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste.
The Imperial Court urges our Constituent Courts to give financial donations and annually make a financial contribution to the local chapter of the UNCF in the host city for the Imperial Court Session.
Voter Registration & Education
The Imperial Court seeks to bring awareness to the value of voting and increase participation in the political process of electing our public servants and officials. We promote voter education providing our membership and supporters with basic information to enhance their understanding of the voting process and the importance of voting.
Breast Cancer Awareness
The purpose of the Ruth M. Ellerbe – Thinking Pink initiative is to provide current information on Breast Cancer awareness, diagnosis, treatment, and cancer care support; promote advocacy for Breast Cancer research, treatment, and support within the community; to provide financial support to breast cancer programs; to support and empower members and their families who are survivors or currently being treated for breast cancer; and to encourage members to become active in local and community programs through volunteer work and networking.
The Charlie P. Albury
Our Charlie P. Albury Golden Years Mentoring initiative assists Daughters eighty (80) years of age or more, by providing a place for them to rest and get assistance during the Imperial Court Session. A luncheon and program may be held that provides information relative to the health and well-being of our Senior Members.
Disaster Relief
The Imperial Court provides aid to members of the organization and their families devastated by natural disasters.
Sickle Cell Disease Awareness
Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder affecting approximately 70,000 to 100,000 U.S. Citizens. The disease disproportionately affects communities of color, as more than 90% of those suffering from Sickle Cell Disease are non-Hispanic Black or African American, while an estimated 3%-9% are Hispanic or Latino.
These communities do not receive the recommended healthcare screenings or treatments used to combat the disease, and life expectancy for those suffering from the disease is more than 20 years shorter than the average life expectancy.
The mission of the Department is to empower our membership through education, advocacy, and fundraising. Annually, during our Imperial Court Session, the Department makes a financial contribution to the host city’s Sickle Cell Disease Foundation.
Military & Veterans Affairs
The Imperial Court recognizes and supports Daughters who have served or are currently serving in the Uniformed Armed Services. We promote awareness and support to all of our Uniformed Armed Services members while enhancing our abilities to support our Daughters in and out of uniform.
Historically Black Colleges & Universities
The HBCU Initiative aims to raise funds in support of students attending said institutions. Our mission is to assist students who wish to obtain a higher education at HBCUs and to partner with HBCUs in enriching the lives of students and their future.
HIV–AIDS
Ursala Hines-Botts
The Ursula Hines-Botts Scholarship is an activity that may be held during the annual session at which time the scholarship proceeds from the luncheon shall be contributed to the scholarship fund.
